Yes, the hose and windows plate must be vented when Cooling. hose and windows kit are included in the package, and it can speed​up cooling.

Is it normal for the air conditioner to frost over when using in a low-temp environment (below 61F) ?

Slight frost buildup during the initial startup is normal when in 40F-64F temp environment, but it will melt auto after about 10 mins.

Is it necessary to drain water frequently?

No needed to drain when as a cooling ac or fan. but in extremely damp room or use its dry(dehu) mode, you need to continuous draining with water pipe (package included).

What is the noise level in cooling mode?

The noise level is 42-52 dB when cooling, and in sleep mode(low wind Cooling), it is less than 42 dB, which is lower than the volume of conversation.

Can this air conditioner be used with any household socket?

The working current is 12A, 115V, but max is 20A for turbo mode, so the socket and wire need to support 20A current
